Interface
Codex features a touchscreen interface built into the main rack, making Codex a completely self-contained location recording system. This touchscreen interface has been designed specifically for film use and the vast majority of operations are contained on a single easy-to-use page with no drop-down menus, double-clicking, or pop-up boxes.
Below are a selection of screen images from the Codex interface - click each one for a larger version.

Codex's main page mirrors the rack's front panel transport controls, with large graphical buttons and icons, and the screen layout has been created to be as simple to use as possible - even in bright daylight condition, or when wearing gloves.
The user-interface can be run remotely via a secure network, so that Codex can be controlled from another computer - even a laptop with wireless networking or a PDA - for total flexibility when the system is installed in a location recording vehicle, or studio machine room. This remote interface is designed to be run on a number of OS platforms, including Windows, Linux, PocketPC (for PDAs) and OSX.
